What is ESNNA?
The acronym ESNNA translates to the Sexual Exploitation of Girls, Boys, and Adolescents, who are exposed to any type of sexual or erotic act to satisfy the interests or desires of third parties, through subjugation, in exchange for a monetary or other 'benefit'.
Sexual crimes include, among others, proposals directed at minors for sexual purposes, either in person or through technological means; blackmail, and the dissemination of audiovisual material with sexual content.
What is child sexual tourism?
Child sexual tourism is the exposure of girls, boys, or adolescents to sexual practices, either physically or digitally, through new communication and information technologies, including online grooming, sexting, or sexual extortion, and any type of act that violates or strips minors of their rights.
ESNNA Prevention
The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR) carries out actions to prevent the sexual abuse of minors through various initiatives, including raising awareness among service providers, tourists, students, teachers, and other authorities about this crime.
Law No. 28251 Against Sexual Abuse and Exploitation establishes penalties for the crime committed by users and/or clients of the tourism sector involved in the sexual exploitation of girls, boys, and adolescents. The penalty can be up to 30 years in prison.
We must also reject ESNNA, warn of the prison sentence, and act as preventive agents. In the face of any ESNNA act, it is imperative to report it to the Public Prosecutor's Office, and to carry and share the contact agenda for reports:
